As a matter of principle, we process personal data of our users only insofar as this is necessary for the provision of a functional website as well as our content and services. The processing of personal data of our users is regularly only carried out with the consent of the user. An exception applies in those cases where obtaining prior consent is not possible for actual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by legal regulations.
3.1 Purpose of processing and legal basis
At this point, we would like to explain our philosophy in dealing with personal data that you transmit to us when visiting our website, as well as provide some basic information on data protection. We respect the data protection rights of every individual. Our services are in accordance with the legal data protection provisions regulated in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and the Unfair Competition Act (UWG).
When you visit our websites, we automatically record various information in the respective server log files. This includes, for example, the type and version number of your web browser, the operating system you are using, information about your Internet provider, your IP address, the date and time of access and other similar information. This information accumulates system-related when using the Internet and is therefore technically mandatory to ensure the proper, smooth and secure operation of a website. The log files contain IP addresses or other data that allow an assignment to a user. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user. After 14 days, these server logs, which are kept strictly separate from the rest of the data, among other things, are permanently deleted.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data and the log files is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and thus outweighs the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject; consequently, Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO serves as the legal basis for the processing. At the same time, this data obtained in this way is used, among other things, as part of statistical evaluations with regard to the optimization and security of our website. Here, too, there is a legitimate interest of our company and again the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the first-mentioned interest. Consequently, Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO serves as the legal basis for this processing.
3.2 Possibility to object
The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. Consequently, there is no possibility for the user to object.
"Persistent cookies" or also "permanent cookies", on the other hand, store anonymous information on the respective device and continue to be available even after closing the browser. Each of these cookies is provided with a corresponding "expiration" / validity date, at which time this cookie is then automatically deleted. The purpose of the use of these cookies is, among other things, to create anonymous statistics about the use of our Internet presences. The statistics can be used, among other things, to identify where we still need to optimize our web pages so that they are easier for you to use. Both types of cookies are anonymous.
There is no individual profiling of your usage behavior. Of course, you can also use our website without cookies by disabling them in your respective browser. Please refer to the respective help for the individual browsers (see below) for information on how to make the respective settings to disable cookies. Please note that disabling cookies may cause display and navigation problems. Important for you: The data collected by us in the cookies will not be passed on to third parties or linked to your personal data without your consent. Also, a clear personal identification based on the data collected by third-party providers in the cookies is not possible or not intended.
In the area of installment loans, some of our banking partners also set cookies, so-called "3rd party cookies". These 3rd party cookies help us to better cooperate with these banks and to provide you with optimal service and best conditions. A clear personal identification based on the collected data through these cookies is not possible.
5.1 General
CHECK24 itself exclusively uses the so-called "DoubleClick Floodlight-Cookie" to measure the success of its online advertising campaigns. CHECK24 does not use any other tracking technologies. Whether and to what extent the legally independent companies within the CHECK24 network, which offer their services on the sub-pages and/or sub-domains, use tracking technologies is beyond our knowledge and our sphere of responsibility. We have no influence on this and must therefore refer you to the corresponding legally independent companies and their published data protection notices of the respective legally independent companies. The legal basis for the processing of the users' personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
5.2 DoubleClick floodlight cookie from Google
DoubleClick is a service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as "Google"). DoubleClick uses cookies (so-called "floodlights") to better and more accurately present you with relevant advertisements. Often, the cookies are used to serve ads that are relevant to you, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent you from seeing the same ad multiple times. DoubleClick assigns a pseudonymous identification number (ID) to your browser for this purpose. This cookie ID is used, among other things, to enable DoubleClick to record, for example, which ads are to be served in which browser. If an ad is to be served in a browser, DoubleClick can then use the cookie ID of the browser to check which DoubleClick ads have already appeared in that particular browser. This helps DoubleClick avoid serving ads that the user has already seen. Likewise, DoubleClick can use cookie IDs to capture conversions that are related to the ad requests. This is the case, for example, when you see a DoubleClick ad from CHECK24 and later call up our website with the same browser and perform actions there.
DoubleClick Floodlight cookies do not contain any personal data. The information generated by the cookies is transferred by Google to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there. A transfer of data by Google to third parties only takes place due to legal regulations. If you have a Google account, the information linked to the DoubleClick cookie can be added to your Google account with your authorization.
Further information on the DoubleClick floodlight cookie can be found here: support.google.com/ds/answer/2839090?hl=en By using our websites, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google and the manner and purpose of data processing described above. Of course, you can prevent the collection and processing of data about you by Google at any time with effect for the future by objecting to the use of the so-called DoubleClick DART cookies. DoubleClick has compiled information on how you can object to this on the following pages:
www.google.com/settings/ads or www.google.com/ads/preferences
Alternatively, you can also visit the following website and set all objections centrally there, also for other tracking technologies: www.youronlinechoices.com /en/praferenzmanagement Please note that you must carry out this procedure individually for each browser used and always repeat it if you have actively deleted your cookies.
5.3. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In the event that IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link ( tools.google.com /dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en ). You can prevent the collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents future collection of your data when visiting this website:
Disable Google Analytics
For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or www.google.de/intl/de/policies/ . We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "anonymizeIp" to ensure anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking)."
5.4. Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service operated by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google"). If you reach our website via a Google ad, a so-called "conversion cookie" is automatically set by Google Adwords, not by us. This cookie automatically loses its validity after 30 days and does not serve to identify you personally. Each Adwords customer, and thus also we, receive a different, separate cookie from Google. Thus, the cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of different Adwords customers. By setting this "conversion cookie", both Google and the respective Adwords customer, and thus also we, can recognize that firstly someone has clicked on the respective ad and was thus redirected to a page provided with a conversion tracking tag and secondly how often this person has clicked again on the respective ad within 30 days. The information obtained with the help of the "conversion cookie" is used to create conversion statistics by Google. Important for you: we only learn the total number and frequency of users who clicked on the respective ad and were redirected to a web page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that would allow us to personally identify you users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can refuse the setting of a cookie required for this - for example, via a browser setting that generally disables the automatic setting of cookies. Please bear in mind that completely deactivating the setting of cookies may mean that the website is no longer displayed correctly. You can also deactivate the setting of cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the "www.googleadservices.com" domain. Alternatively, you can turn off or disable the use of this technology offered by Google by visiting the following page and reading how it is possible:
www.youronlinechoices.com /en/preferencemanagement/
As part of its voluntary commitment and its privacy policy, Google has agreed to comply with this procedure described there. Please note that you may not delete the opt-out cookies set in this way as long as you do not wish any measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in the browser, you must set the respective opt-out cookie again via the above-mentioned link.
Further information on the usage and privacy policies for this product can be found here: www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/ and www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/
5.5 Bing Ads - Universal Event Tracking
This website uses Bing Ads Universal Event Tracking, a conversion tracking service provided by Microsoft (Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA). In doing so, this service enables us to track activity on our site if you arrive at our site via a Bing ad. This is done by setting a cookie (small text file) on your device when you click on a Microsoft Bing Ads ad. In particular, Microsoft and we learn the total number of users who have clicked on an ad and reached a previously defined target page. This data is stored for 180 days by Microsoft. No personal information about the user's identity is disclosed. If you do not wish to participate in the Universal Event Tracking procedure, you can prevent the collection and processing of the data generated by the cookie related to your use of the website, for example, by rejecting the setting of cookies in your browser settings. In addition, it is possible to deactivate the receipt of interest-based advertising by Microsoft by opting out at the following link:
go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=286759.
Alternatively, you can opt-out of receiving interest-based advertising from Microsoft, as well as from other participating companies altogether, at the following page: www.youronlinechoices.com/de/. For more information about the usage and privacy policies for this product, please visit: privacy.microsoft.com/en-DE/privacystatement/
6.1 Google Login
If you have a Google user account, you can also register and log in for our services using your Google credentials. Google's privacy policy and terms of use apply to registration with and use of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, which you can view at http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.
You can register or log in to our offer with the help of Google by clicking on the button marked with the Google logo as part of the registration process. You will then be redirected to Google. If you are already registered with Google at this time, Google will already know that you want to register for our services with the help of Google when you click on the button. If you are not logged in to Google at this time, Google will ask you to log in to Google by entering your access data or to register as a new Google user. In any case, the entry of your Google access data takes place directly on Google's server. We do not learn your Google access data.
Google then asks whether you would like to register for our services with the help of Google. Only if you actively agree to this, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and country from Google. We only store your name and email address in order to create your personal CHECK24 customer account or to update your existing one. All other information we receive from your Google user account is discarded.
If you use an email address for which you already have a personal CHECK24 customer account with password to log in with your Google user account, we will ask you to enter your CHECK24 password so that we can link your existing CHECK24 customer account with your Google user account. This way you will still have access to all your activities and benefits of your existing CHECK24 customer account.
If you decide to register or log in to CHECK24 with your Google credentials, Google will become aware of your request by clicking on the button marked with the Google logo. In addition, Google sets a cookie in your browser when you click on the button marked with the Google logo. By means of this text file, Google can collect further information about you and your surfing behavior. The information generated by the cookie is regularly transmitted to a Google server, which may be located in the USA. This information is stored there and possibly combined with your Google profile data. It is possible that Google will create user profiles that go beyond the information that you yourself have disclosed. For more information, please refer to Google's privacy policy (http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/).
However, CHECK24 will at no time pass on your data stored with us to Google.
If you wish to disconnect the connection between your personal CHECK24 customer account and your Google user account, you can do so at any time in the settings for your personal CHECK24 customer account. If you do not yet have a CHECK24 password, we will ask you to create one in order to continue to have access to your CHECK24 customer account.
If you delete your Google user account, this will not affect the existence of your personal CHECK24 customer account.
Collected data and for what reason:

If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims.
